For this 8th edition, racers will cross the finish line in Saint-Pierre-la-Mer, in the city of Fleury d’Aude, right by the Mediterranean sea.
The city of Fleury d’Aude is composed of the historic village, the Saint-Pierre-la-Mer seaside resort, and the “Cabanes de Fleury”, the former fishing village.
It is a preserved world where everyone can find his place in harmony with the nature, the beach, the garrigue and the vines. In addition to its attractive beach of fine, golden sand, the resort offers an amazing viewpoint: the Œil Doux. As a real geological curiosity, the impressive abyss is made of huge limestone green cliffs that overlook an emerald green stretch of water.

For 2016’s edition, Raid in France will go through the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region, crossing three of its thirteen departments.
Between the Garonne and the Rhone, bordered by the Massif Central mountains in the north and by the Pyrénées mountains and the Mediterranean sea in the south, it offers a variety of remarkable landscapes.
From Catalan, Aude and Ariège Pyrénées to the coastline, via the Corbières mountains and their Cathar citadels, this region and its amazing natural and historical heritage will impress our participants!
During their adventure at the heart of the Pyrénées mountains, racers will discover Ariège. As a South western land with a thousand faces, the department is divided into three areas: the Ariège plains, made of small valleys and hills and crossed by two rivers, the piedmont plateau, with its low mountains, and a high mountain area, with the pique d’Estats peak, that rises to 3.143 meters.
If you are passionate about wide-open spaces, fond of field sports or a skier looking for great ski slopes, you are going to love the Ariège department!
Great news! Team Seagate from New Zealand, leader of the ARWS rankings and reigning world champion, will take part in the 8th edition of Raid in France!
The team includes New Zealand racer Nathan Faavae, the emblematic figure of adventure racing in the whole world.
It should spice up this year expedition, going from the Pyrénées to the Mediterranean sea.
For this 8th edition, racers will have the opportunity to go through the Aude department.
Aude, the “Pays Cathare”, offers a wide range of different natural sites: the department is located between two mountains, the Montagne Noire in the North and the Pyrénées in the South, and is also bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
These unique landscapes allowed the department to highlight a number of nature sports, and to convert it into an essential activity to raise young people. The Aude department assembles more than 1.200 sports clubs, federated into 58 departmental committees. What to largely satisfy both experienced and amateur athletes!
Pyrénées will be the stage of Raid in France’s 8th edition.
From September 1, the city of Font-Romeu, located in the heart of the regional natural park of the Catalan Pyrenees, will host volunteers and racers.
Its natural protected area, dominating peaks, montain lakes and Mediterranean climate convert the station into a perfect playing field for lovers of nature sports.
At the crossroads of Spain and Andorra, Font-Romeu offers a wide range of sports activities such as mountain biking, canyoneering, climbing, hiking & paraglider among others. The city was elected « the most sporting city in France » by the newspaper l’Equipe!
